NADP will participate in a discussion panel on the death penalty next Tuesday evening at 7:00 in the City Campus Union at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The panel discussion will focus in part on the case of Troy Davis, who was executed by the state of Georgia on September 21, 2011. Due to overwhelming doubt about Davis’ guilt, the story of his execution ignited protests worldwide and has since become iconic in the fight to abolish the death penalty.
NADP will share current information about the death penalty in Nebraska during the event, alongside Christy Hargesheimer, the state death penalty coordinator for Amnesty International, and Charles Holm, an MA student in History at UNL.
