Two weeks ago, New Hampshire came within one vote of ending the death penalty. The state Senate voted 12-12 on a bill that would have repealed the death penalty. Senators then voted to table the bill. Previously, the bill had received overwhelming support in New Hampshire’s House, and Governor Maggie Hassan indicated that, had the bill passed, she would have signed it.
Although it won't happen this year, it’s clear from a vote this close that it’s only a matter of time before the death penalty is repealed in New Hampshire, and throughout the nation!
