Bestselling Christian Author to Speak About Nebraska's Death Penalty

Claiborne is an author and Christian social activist, advocating for nonviolence and service to the poor.
Shane Claiborne, author of Executing Grace: How the Death Penalty Killed Jesus and Why It’s Killing Us, will visit Nebraska in June to speak about his new book, to share his support for the abolition of Nebraska’s death penalty, and to join the ongoing conversation about Nebraska’s death penalty referendum leading up to this November’s ballot initiative.

Executing Grace explores the death penalty through a historical and Scriptural lens to elucidate the power of restorative justice, redemption, and forgiveness. “I began to realize,” Shane says, that what is at stake around the death penalty debate is one of the most fundamental truths of the Gospel: No one is beyond redemption.”
