Now Hiring for Part-Time Development Coordinator


Nebraskans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (NADP), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization comprised of individuals and partner organizations across the state, seeks a motivated Development Coordinator to assist in our endeavor to repeal the death penalty in Nebraska. NADP is a state affiliate of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. See nadp.net for more details.

This part-time position located in NADP’s office in downtown Lincoln will report directly to the NADP Board of Directors. The Development Coordinator will work with the board, contract accountant and volunteers to take meaningful action toward achieving NADP’s mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain NADP’s website and digital presence through regular blog posts, annual campaign letters, social media posts and email marketing.

  • Organize and implement fundraising campaigns, apply for grants and coordinate community events.

  • Pass on requests for speaking engagements, member or press inquiries and associated correspondence to the appropriate board member.

  • Meet calendared deadlines for tax reports, lobbying reports, etc.

  • Work with contract accountant to pay bills.

  • Conduct administrative duties including creating and monitoring an annual budget, tax compliance and general office management.

  • Write thank-you notes to donors and track donations.

  • Work with the board of directors to support outreach and engagement efforts.

  • Attend and coordinate events (e.g., tabling, community organizing, vigils, conference calls with death penalty advocacy groups, etc.).

  • Attend quarterly meetings to share updates and collaborate with the board.

  • Assist the board with miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and experience in grassroots, issue-oriented organizing or other relevant experience.

  • Ability to work with people (e.g., volunteers, donors, board members and the general public) from a wide variety of political and religious backgrounds including those very different from your own.

  • Grant writing/fundraising experience a big plus.

  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office software and online organizing tools.

  • Experience as a public spokesperson and advocate a plus.

  • Experience in supervising and motivating volunteers and working cooperatively with a team.

  • Experience with Salesforce database, Wix website platform and email a plus.

  • Prior nonprofit management experience a plus.

  • Experience with online organizing, fundraising and communications.

  • Familiarity with and a personal commitment to death penalty abolition.

Compensation: Competitive part-time nonprofit compensation. Flexible hours.
